What One Can Suffer With Low Estrogen?

There are many cells in human body or the groups of cells (glands) which are connecting to each other they are altering their growth, function, or metabolism. The hormones produced by cells in the endocrine glands specialized to serve as regulators at the overall organism level. However they may also exert their effects solely within the tissue in which they are produced and originally released. Hormone secretion can be stimulated and inhibited by: Other hormones (”stimulating”- or ”releasing”-hormones) Plasma concentrations of ions or nutrients, as well as binding globulins Neurons and mental activity Environmental changes, e.g., of light or temperature.

Estrogen is female steroid sex hormones that are secreted by the ovary and responsible for typical female sexual characteristics; Hormonal health of any woman depends upon the delicate dance of progesterone and estrogen. Estrogen is meant to be the predominant hormone in the first half of the menstrual cycle and progesterone the predominant one in the second half. Estrogen plays a role in female fertility and specifically ovulation. Estrogen is the dominant hormone in the first half of the menstrual cycle and continues to play a part throughout the second half as well.

If estrogen is low, the normal feedback mechanisms of the hypothalamus and pituitary do not function causing an imbalance in the natural menstruation cycle. In such women the lining of the uterus is scant and not hospitable to a pregnancy. More often than not, in these women, ovulation may not occur at all. A woman can have genetic reasons why her ovaries make insufficient levels of estrogen. A genetic condition known as Turner syndrome, which prevents the ovaries from developing normally, can lead to low levels of estrogen that will lead to a delay of menstruation. In this genetic condition, altered genes determine internal and external sexual characteristics.

Progesterone protects the endometrial lining and prevents it from developing cancer or getting extra thinner. Estrogen intake can be possible in different forms as through oral cavity, in the form of injections, transdermal patches or even in the form of rings to be put inside vagina. Patches are also of different kinds and for vaginal input dose, very low dosage is required which gradually affects the targeted site in the least possible time. Therefore you can choose whatever suites your pocket and body.

There are several risk factors that are highly threatening. These primarily include the bone issues along with heart disease and stroke vulnerability. Blood clots in veins and cardiovascular problems are also commonly reported. Development of vaginal or breast cancer can also be there. Therefore it is highly recommended that this treatment should be followed for minimum possible duration as these all side effects are associated with the long term treatment. Short term treatment does not show such side effects and results are also affective.
