Julie Bredeth Luker, L. Ac. MAcOM
I received my Masters degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the Academy of Oriental Medicine at Austin (AOMA),
and am licensed by the Texas State Board of Acupuncture Examiners, a division of the Texas Medical Board, receiving
License number AC01023. I am also a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine, the highest certification of the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental
Medicine (NCCAOM). I was drawn to the study of Traditional Japanese Acupunture, and was accepted into the 9-month post-graduate
course of study with the Toyohari Association of North America during my last year at AOMA.
In addition, I studied under two Japanese Toyohari Masters at the TANA National Training in Washington, D.C. in May 2007.
The study of Toyohari Japanese Acupuncture is a life-long activity, and I am participating in further training on the local (monthly
meetings with the Texas Branch of TANA), national (yearly, at the TANA National Trainings), and international level (Bi-annually,
In addition, I will be participating in the Southwest Symposium
in Austin, studying the treatment of Infertility and Menopause, and Esoteric Acupuncture, among other topics.
Prior to my Oriental Medicine studies, I received my Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Texas at Austin, and
after graduating joined the San Antonio Symphony as Associate Principal Flute and piccolo, a chair that I hold today, 28 years later.
